FAQ
Do I need a diagnosis or a specific mental health issue?
No, you don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from coaching. Most of the people I work with are self-aware and functioning, but feel stuck in patterns like overthinking, avoidance, or being hard on themselves. If your mental health is impacting how you show up in your life, that’s enough.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching is focused on helping you make changes in your life, especially when you already have insight but struggle to follow through. We’re less focused on analyzing the past, and more focused on what’s happening right now - so we can shift it. My background as a therapist means I understand the depth of what you’re dealing with, but coaching is where we work on applying change.
How do I know if this is right for me?
This work is a good fit if you are self-aware but still feel stuck. You tend to overthink or avoid. You’re hard on yourself when things don’t go as planned. And you want to make changes, not just develop more insight. If that sounds like you, there’s a good chance this will feel helpful.
What kind of results can I expect?
Through this work, most clients start to follow through more consistently, feel less stuck in their own head, respond to themselves with less criticism, and build trust in themselves again. Change happens gradually, but it becomes more sustainable over time.
What does a session look like?
Sessions are conversational, collaborative, and focused. We’ll talk about what’s coming up for you, identify patterns, and figure out small, realistic ways to move forward. It’s not about having all the answers, it’s about working through things in a way that actually translates into your real life.
Can I do coaching alongside therapy?
Yes, many people use coaching alongside therapy. Therapy might focus more on processing and understanding, while coaching focuses on applying change in your day-to-day life. As long as you feel clear on what you want support with, they can compliment each other well.
What if I get emotional during a session?
That’s completely ok. You’re a human being, not a project. We’ll make space for what’s coming up while still keeping a focus on helping you move forward in a way that feels manageable.
